Talking about the problems in the contemporary Indian theatre, Lucky Gupta expresses his discontent with the functions of National School of Drama. The very concept of drama propagated and taught at NSD is counterproductive to the growth and development of theatre in India. The courses at NSD do not take into consideration the vast expanse of sub-altern and rural India and the multitude of rich art forms indigenous to each region. Lucky Gupta feels that NSD should be more responsible and broaden its horizons for the sake of development of theatre in India.
