In 1975 Sydney Pollack directed "Three days of the condor".

The irony is that in a film produced 38 years ago a CIA researcher, played by Robert Redford, asks the head of his department if USA had any plans to invade the Middle East. The serene answer is:

"Absolutely not. We play games ... what if? How many men? What would it take? Is there a cheaper way to destabilize a regime? That's what we are paid to do.
