Acting president Hwang Kyo-ahn is calling for calm and consistent policies to address the diplomatic and security issues facing South Korea.
Speaking at a cabinet meeting Tuesday, Hwang stressed the importance of a stronger security posture based on the South Korea-U.S alliance,... as North Korea is set to start its Supreme People's Assembly and other celebrations this week, meaning a higher likelihood of provocations.
On the economic front, Hwang called for creative policies to minimize uncertainties over trade and the economy.
With the salvage of the Sewol-ho ferry in its final stages, Hwang also sent his condolences to the families of the victims, promising to create a safer country.
