Acting President Hwang Kyo-ahn has called for a stronger defense posture and military surveillance,... as there's a high chance of a North Korean provocation this month.
Speaking at a cabinet meeting today, Hwang stressed the importance of a stronger security posture based on a firm South Korea-U.S. alliance.
North Korea begins its Supreme People's Assembly and other celebrations this week, which points to a higher likelihood of provocations.
On the economic front, Hwang called for creative policies to minimize uncertainties about trade and the economy.
He also called for calm and consistent policies to address the diplomatic and security issues facing South Korea.
