There are so much spammy and get rich quick sites out there it's ridiculous. They suck you in with great ad copy and you feel compelled to buy. It's for that reason that these sites exist - they work!
The real question you're probably asking yourself is: "How can I start making money online?". Well there are a number of ways to do this. Here are a few that I've had some success with.
Affiliate marketing - this is where become a partner with a merchant and in return for advertising and traffic that you provide, you receive commissions for products that your traffic purchases from the merchant. This is a very lucrative model and can be awesome if you have a niche website that has lots of targeted traffic. I have personally made good cash off of places like Amazon.com to small websites targeting specific goods and services.
Network Marketing - Network marketing or Multi-level marketing is simply moving products much the same as affiliate marketing in exchange for a commission. You also have the benefit of receiving further future commissions on products that people you have sponsored or referred to the company purchase. A great way to make a residual income. Unfortunately the industry has received a bad rap due to the methods taught to distributors in some companies. This can and has all changed for some with ingenuity to take their business online.
Internet Consulting - By taking the knowledge you gain in building an online business you can translate that into profits by offering offline 'brick and mortar' businesses your services. Many small businesses in your local area do not have webpages never mind a means to capture leads or perpetuate and engage their clients. This is something as simple as setting up a blog, capture page, or a Facebook fan page for someone and make excellent money doing so.
So that's just a few ideas for you to consider and get creative with your options. My one suggestion: Stop thinking about money making schemes so much and focus your efforts locally. There is lots that can be done locally and is only limited to your imagination, work ethic and ability.
There are a vast array of options available to get an education to market yourself online. One is by simply getting out there and doing it. There are a great number of resources that can be purchased as info products and learned at your own pace. Often times this is something that will reduce the time and costs of attending a school. That being said, it is often also without any credentials or diploma to show for your efforts.
In my experience that is not really a big thing anymore as most people online care more about what you can do rather than what you have done.
