MySpace Vs Facebook - Who Wins the Battle of the Social Networking Titans?

[ad_1]

Virtually all active social networkers have profiles on Facebook and MySpace. They are probably the two most popular social sites, so that comes as no surprise. While users tend to sign up for each of them, inevitably one site becomes more frequently visited than the other. This article will reveal why.

The sites both evolved in such a fashion that they have tended to appeal to different demographics. Facebook was originally almost exclusively college students, while MySpace catered to younger high school students. Both sites still have appeal to their original demographic, but both have grown to include older adults as well. In recent times, Facebook has attracted a following among business networkers, while MySpace seems to be the domain of the arts community. Generalizations, no doubt, but valid generalizations for sure.

Both sites feature user applications. Facebook has a decided edge in the "cutting edge" forms of communication between members. In fact, it seems that Facebook is adding applications almost on a daily basis. This ability to communicate with other users in a variety of useful ways, is very popular with the business networkers within the community. if applications are not your thing, go for MySpace.

Because MySpace attracts the creative community, MySpace profiles can be modified in many creative ways. Each profile can reflect the personality of the individual member. Not so with Facebook, where all the profile pages tend to look alike.

Joining groups is quite popular on both sites. The groups interface in MySpace is very easy to understand and evaluate. A page reveals which groups there are under different categories, and which members are active. from my experience, people seem to prefer the groups program in MySpace over Facebook.

Spam is much more of a problem in MySpace than it is in Facebook. For some reason, hackers can invade profiles with viruses more readily in MySpace. Users in MySpace will check messages in their profiles, only to find spam ads to all adult sites. YUCK!

Networking for business purposes must be handled properly in both Facebook and MySpace. Renegade University is a> FREE members only website that trains students on all forms of attraction marketing.
